Privacy Policy
Effective September 28, 2026
The short version: Hanoi collects no data. It has no account, no servers, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your climbs are saved only on your iPhone.
What Hanoi keeps, and where
When you finish a climb, Hanoi saves its time, the number of stones, the number of moves, the moves themselves and the date, so it can show your records and replay a climb. This is stored only on your device, inside the app. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it.
Hanoi also remembers two settings on your device: how many stones you last played with, and whether sound is on.
Game Center
If you are signed in to Game Center, Hanoi sends your best time for each tower height, with its number of moves, to Apple's Game Center leaderboards, and shows the world's best times. Game Center is a service provided by Apple and is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. Your Game Center nickname and scores are visible to other players according to your Game Center settings. You can sign out of Game Center, or change who sees you, at any time in Settings › Game Center. Hanoi works fully without it.
What Hanoi does not do
- No accounts or sign-ups.
- No analytics, crash reporting or advertising SDKs.
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no data sold or shared.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access.
Motion
Hanoi uses your iPhone's motion sensors only to shift the sky gently as you tilt the phone. Those readings are used on the device, in the moment, and are never stored or sent anywhere.
Children
Hanoi is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
